Learn STEM with Stu! (Grades K-2)This is a set of cards with over 45 games and activities designed by educators to guide and nurture kids’ computational thinking skills. Each included activity requires NO additional materials, are kid-tested for maximum fun and can take less than 5-10 minutes to complete.

Cyberchase: Environmental Science (Grades 3-5) This collection features resources designed to help elementary-level learners explore the environment, while strengthening math and problem-solving skills. These resources not only foster environmental awareness among students but also demonstrate how mathematical skills are essential in analyzing and solving ecological problems. The collection is perfect for elementary educators looking to cultivate a sense of environmental responsibility in their students while reinforcing their math skills in an engaging and meaningful way. What's Bugging You? (Grades6-8,9-12) New Collection! Entomologist Dr. Art Evans and VPM radio producer Steve Clark co-host What’s Bugging You? Their engaging, wide-ranging, and humorous explorations into the world of insects and entomology are presented as an animated series. It leans into the crazy, fun, and hilarious aspects of the insect world. It asks questions like: "When is a bug a true bug?" "How do I find those insects hiding in plain sight?" "What in the world is a booger beetle and a fecal shield?" All these answers and more are uncovered in the new videos through artfully illustrated and accurate depictions of insects and their surroundings.

Futures Literacy (Grades 6-8,9-12) The future is not yet written, which means we have the power to design it. Inspired by futurist Ari Wallach's A Brief History of the Future, these resources introduce students to the ideas and practices of futures thinking and provide activities that let learners brainstorm the positive future they want to live, work, and play in. From leveraging advances in science and engineering that spur a more sustainable future to using disruption and storytelling to grow more inclusive and green communities, futurists and other helpers around the world are applying their hopes and skills to imagine, plan, and build an optimistic future for us all.

Math at the Core: Culturally Responsive Teaching and Math (Grades 6-8) The math classroom holds huge potential for students to develop a deep understanding of social, political, and economic issues with direct relevance to their own lives, as well as important interdisciplinary skills such as media and data literacy. This frames the way in which math teachers might consider their students’ multiple identities in teaching math, and anchor math in the context of both historical applications and relevant social justice issues

Illustrative Mathematics 6-8 Math and Algebra 1 (6-8,9-12) SchoolKit, in collaboration with Illustrative Mathematics, has created a video version of select problem-based lessons from IM 6–8 Math and IM Algebra 1. Each video is accompanied by a printed version of the corresponding activity task statements along with a set of cumulative practice problems from the curriculum. The collection features 24 lessons from each of the four courses.

LDMA : Explore The Contributions Made By Louisianans On D-Day And Throughout World War II.

June 6, 2024, marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy, France, which proved to be a turning point during World War II. Louisiana citizens played important roles throughout the war effort, both on the front lines and on the home front, and D-Day was no exception. The landing craft used during this pivotal operation were manufactured at Higgins Industries in New Orleans. General Dwight D. Eisenhower later stated that the Higgins boats were “the boats that won the war for us.” Learn more about the important contributions made by Louisianans on D-Day and throughout World War II with LDMA.

Mavis: One Simple Sentence LOUISIANA SPECIAL FOCUS Thursday, June 6 at 7:00pm The year is 1921. Louisiana lawmakers ban French in classrooms, silencing the language for generations of families. Decades later, along comes Mavis Arnaud Fruge on a mission to revive the language stolen from her community. Mavis’ story is one of tenacity and resilience – her journey, extraordinary. Retired but far from slowing down, she dedicates two decades to reviving not just the Louisiana French language, but also the culture. Knighted twice by the French government, an honor typically reserved for national heroes, Mavis would go on to revolutionize language education. This film by award-winning Louisiana filmmakers Bill Rodman and Flo Ulmer-Rodman is as rousing as it is motivational, reminding us that it’s never too late to make a difference.
