Congratulations are in order as Scott Mills and Sam Vaughan have married in Spain.
The couple, who’ve been engaged for three years, made it official on Saturday, June 1 in Xalet Del Nin – a stunning Mediterranean villa which faced the Balearic sea on the coast near Barcelona.
Flying in for the celebrations were guests Rylan Clark, Calvin Harris, Vick Hope, Zoe Ball and Chris Stark, with the latter taking on a special role as Master of Ceremonies. He called it ‘one of the biggest honours’ of his life to take on the role.
They had plenty planned for those who made the journey, including a rendition of How Long Will I Love You by Pixie Lott during the ceremony. Eurovision legend Sam Ryder performed a set as the sun set, and DJ Joel Corry provided the tunes as they partied until the early hours.
BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott said: ‘We both had the most incredible day. To celebrate with all our close friends and family in Spain was so special. We are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.’
Sam and Scott, who are set to make their TV show debut together shortly on the pre-recorded Celebrity Race Across the World, both called their wedding ‘magical’ on Instagram.
In the first photographs released of their summer wedding, the men look blissfully happy after saying ‘I do’.
One particularly beautiful photo shows the grooms kissing as a multi-coloured canon is let off in the sky, as Chris stands next to the pair.
Excitement has been mounting for days before the big event. Excited husband-to-be Sam shared an image of clinking glasses filled with fizz and wrote: ‘Let’s jet off to get married then’ ahead of their flight.
Before taking off, Zoe told listeners on her BBC Radio 1 show: ‘So this weekend our boy Scott Mills is getting married, to our friend Sam who often works on the breakfast show….
‘So excited to watch them walking down the aisle. They are gorgeous, gorgeous boys.’
Scott, 51, previously told Metro.co.uk he was hoping their dog Teddy could also be in attendance.
‘I really want him there. Is it difficult to get a dog to Spain? I’ve never tried. Sam’s like, “We can’t bring him,” but I really, really want him to be there. I don’t know how that works, we’ll have to get him a passport,’ he shared.
While the four-legged guest may not have made it, they had plenty of people celebrating their love and were treated to entertainment for making the journey.
Artist Callum Scott performed at a pre-wedding party called ‘The Night Before’ which took place at the Sky Bar.
The carefully organised celebrations have been months in the works, with Scott and Sam flying over for tastings and venue visits, ahead of their big day.
The pair were dressed by celebrity stylist Stevie B Shindler, who shared a glimpse of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent hangers during wedding preparations months ago. Whatever the winning brand was, then men were definitely suited and booted in suave tuxedos and bow ties.
Before arriving in Spain, Scott was made to feel special by his ‘other husband’ Rylan, who led some on-air celebrations.
In one snap from the afternoon of fun, Scott is holding a Bride-to-be balloon and wearing a hen do sash, as Rylan plants a kiss on his cheek.
‘Thankyou to my other husband@rylanfor planning the best two hours ever on today’s show@bbcradio2,’ he wrote in the accompanying caption.
‘Love you loads Ry, and thank you to everyone for all the good luck messages for me and@samvaughan89it was so lovely.’
When announcing their engagement in October 2021, Scott romantically wrote: ‘You make me laugh every single day, you support me in so many ways and I adore everything about you.’
Scott, who previously thought he wouldn’t get married, added: ‘We’ve had some amazing times, and I’m bursting with happiness to know we will have so many more. I love you with all my heart.’
