Grapes are readily available in late fall and one is always on the lookout for new grape recipes. This lettuce salad is one of them!

Have extra grapes? Just remove them from the vines, wash and dry them. Then put into a freezer bag and freeze. When you need something sweet, just pop a frozen grape into your mouth. Yum!

Lettuce salad recipes are easy to prepare and add that healthy touch to a lunch orsupper meal. This one includes grapes and apples to make it a real healthy treat.

If you'd like a more traditional lettuce salad with a tart, creamy salad dressing with a hint of dill, try Lettuce Salad with Sour Cream Salad Dressing. A treat as well.

Whenever you make a lettuce salad, make sure that you wash the lettuce thoroughly. Then dry it. Use a salad spinner or gently pat the leaves dry with paper towels.

Water that sticks to the leaves will prevent an oil-based dressing from adhering or will turn a cream dressing watery.

Oma says:

Even though this recipe uses head lettuce, I personally use romaine for almost all my salads. Because the romaine leaves are a darker green, they contain more nutrients.

However, in this recipe, the head lettuce does have a more delicate taste.

Hummus?

Yep. Hummus. Sylvie, my daughter-in-law, shares that hummus dressing is delicious in thisand explains how to make the changes. Her easy hummus recipethat's the basis for the salad dressing so quick to make and it's becoming wildly popular in Germany. Try it. I think you'll like it too!
