Frequently Asked Questions

How long to fry fish strips?

Fry the fish sticks for 5-7 minutes until they are golden on the outside. The flesh will be opaque and flaky. You may need to turn the fish to get all sides to evenly brown.

What kind of fish can I use?

I like to use cod because it is affordable and readily available. You can make these fish fingers with cod, haddock, pollock, catfish or any mild white fish.

Can I bake or air fry fish?

If you prefer to skip the deep frying, you can cook the panko crusted fish in the air fryer or bake it in the oven. To air fry, add coated fish to the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees F, turning once halfway through. To bake, lay the fish stick on a baking sheet lined with parchment or oven safe rack and cook for 15 to 20 minutes at 425 degrees F.

How do I store and reheat Panko Crusted Cod?

While the fish sticks are best enjoyed right away, leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer until cripy and warmed through.

Can I freeze Gluten Free Fish Sticks?

To freeze fish sticks, coat with panko and place on a baking sheet. Flash freeze then transfer to a freezer bag. To cook, bring the oil to temperature and add the frozen fish directly to the oil. Cook until golden, crispy and good all the way through.

What to serve with Gluten Free Fish and Chips?

Fish and chips should be served with chips, aka French Fries. You can go traditional with our Crispy Air Fryer French Fries or try Crispy Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries, Spicy Baked Zucchini Fries or Jicama Fries.
